Fulham Road Picturehouse Opens to the Public
Doors Opened on the 8th of December 2019.
Twenty-five years after Shaun first created a scheme to refurbish the cinema, Earle Architects were appointed to extensively refurbish “Cineworld Fulham Road” into the 26th Picturehouse venue now known as Fulham Road Picturehouse.
On the 8th of December Fulham Road Picturehouse opened its doors to the public for the first time. The cinema boasts over 1000 seats and a range of restored and inspired 1930's features that creates a directional flow through the building. Externally we have re-clad the prominent circular canopy in translucent glazing with bronze metalwork. It features a back lit illuminated readograph and the Picturehouse logo.
We would like to thank everyone at Cineworld, Picturehouse and Maeve Construction for the collaborative work that enabled us to carry out this fast-tracked project.
"Fulham Road Picturehouse takes us back to the glory days of 1930s period glamour in this listed building. Earle Architects (who did a fantastic job with Bromley Picturehouse) have helped us revive Fulham Road to its former vintage charm.
Formerly a Cineworld venue, Fulham Road has been transformed into the 26th cinema in the Picturehouse family and opened its doors on Sunday 8 December 2019."
