Robertson Street Hostel
The Robertson Street Hostel is an existing building offering shelter to 42 homeless men with a history of drug and alcohol abuse.
The brief from our client, Thames Reach, was to reconfigure each of the bedrooms to provide en-suite bathrooms and to refurbish the building throughout.
Our design minimises the extent of structural work, to reduce costs, and employs the use of robust but cost effective materials.
The existing heating and hot and cold water systems are to be entirely renewed to provide a much more efficient system and reduce the building’s running costs.
The construction work is being delivered in two phases, with half of the building still in occupation at any one time.
